Try Something New!
Paint your own Plein Air postcards alongside local artist Deb Lanning. She will host a group of up to 10 adults (sorry no kiddos) for a unique Plein Air experience. We will be soaking up local beauty while making art in the great outdoors. All art supplies required for this experience will be provided.
The painting session will start with an introductory lesson for the group, showing you some basic watercolor painting techniques. You will be creating your own compositions, step-by-step instructions are not provided. Once the lesson is complete, you will be free to hang with the group or wander off to explore the area, whatever you need to find your picturesque inspiration. Then settle in to try your hand at Plein Air Watercolor Painting.
Debra will be there to answer questions and support you with your creative efforts.

FAQ
The French term Plein Air means out of doors. Plein Air often refers to the act of painting in the open air.
This will be determined by the group. We can meet in any of the beautiful public spaces available to us in the Traverse City, Leelanau, Benzie area or we can meet at a private residence. It is preferable that there be a view of something naturally beautiful.

3 Hours
– Bring a favorite beach blanket, chair and/or umbrella. Whatever will make you comfortable.
– Bring your own food & drink, no refreshments will be provided.
This experience is for adults, suggested minimum age of 15 years old. This is a 3 hours mindfulness experience, you know your teens. Will they be able to sit, chill, and paint for 3 hours?
Many times we meet on the beach, if that is the case you should be able to walk in the sand. Each location will be different.
You’ll get to keep any of the watercolor postcards that you produce! The art kits get returned to be used by the next group.
