Atlas is my iconic 1975 VW Microbus, featuring 23 windows and a fold-back moonroof for epic panoramic views.
With its sleek white leather interior and nostalgic charm, Atlas provides a stylish ride for up to six guests (two bench seats, three people per bench). A group of four will ride extra comfortably.

Rates
- Private VW Bus Tours – $125 per hour with a minimum booking of 4 hours.
- Tour Rates DO NOT include tasting or experience fees.
- Private Outdoor Yoga Class – Add a session for $100. Yoga classes take place in the morning before it gets too hot, and the location depends on availability. All gear provided. Learn More
- Plein Air Watercolor Class – Add a guided postcard painting session for $50 per person. All art materials are provided. Learn More
Booking Process
- Choose a ‘Host’ from your group – this person is responsible for being the main point of contact.
- Click Here to Reserve Your Date – I only offer one tour per day, to give my guests flexibility.
- After the date is confirmed, visit the Choose Your Own Adventure to help you plan your day.
- Finalize Details – We’ll have a quick chat to confirm the itinerary, answer any questions, and collect credit card info for payment and as a security hold.
- Wavier Signing – All guests must be over the age of 21 and must sign a Waiver before the start of the tour.
FAQ’s
One of the benefits of a private tour is that I’ll pick you up and drop you off, so you won’t have to drink and drive. I live in Lake Ann, I’ll travel within approximately 30 minutes in any direction to pick up your party. If it is much more than that, I may need to add tour time to accommodate for expenses.
Depending on my schedule for the day, Yes, for an extra fee, we can extend the tour. I only plan one tour per day, so it is very possible to add on more time.
All guests must be 21 and over.
After completing your booking, you may cancel your tour for a full 100% refund up to 5 days before your scheduled date. Cancellations made 4 days in advance will receive a 50% refund, while cancellations within 2 days of the tour are non-refundable.
Wander with Direction reserves the right to cancel a tour at any time for any reason. In the rare event that the tour must be canceled, you will receive a full refund along with a sincere apology.
Severe weather may cause cancellation or postpone. I’ll do my best to accommodate rescheduling.
1975 Volkswagen Type 2 T1 Brazilian Deluxe Kombi (23-Window “Samba” Style).
Fun fact, they stopped making this body type in Germany in 1967, but continued to produce them in Brazil into the 1970’s.
This bus was restored in Brazil and imported into the United States. The first U.S. owner was in Texas, until I purchased it and brought it up to Michgan.
– Atlas is really fun to drive and a completely unique experience to ride in!
– It is fully restored with brand new engine, but it is still quirky, and old, nothing like modern vehicles.
– It has a manual transmission.
– No power steering.
– No heat, and no A/C.
– The engine runs a little loud.
– The moon roof must be open all the way or not at all. It can be windy with the Moon Roof open.
– Due to the split Safari Windows the windshield wipers are ineffective, making it unreasonable to drive it severe weather.
– She is deluxe and barebones at the same time.
