Hi There! I’m Founder and inspired life enthusiast, Deb Lanning, I find inspiration from my travel and adventures. Whether sailing the crystal blue waters here in Michigan, road-tripping through the Southwest, or exploring the sunny coasts of tropical locals, I am always searching for a new experience. My goal is simple: to share my passion for creative curiosity with others.
I am a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher and I am thrilled by the idea of sharing my unique yoga stylings with others. With a passion for incorporating themes rich in imagery and inspiration, my goal is to create dynamic and engaging practices that resonate deeply with my students. My classes are designed to inspire and uplift, weaving together the physical, mental, and spiritual aspects of yoga. My greatest wish is to provide an enthusiastic approach and creative sequencing inviting practitioners of all levels to explore their practice in a supportive and imaginative environment.
With a BFA from Grand Valley State University and a lifelong passion for art and design, I am continually learning and creating. My growing line of art-based products includes watercolor postcards, trucker hats, apparel, and more. Part of my mission to make art accessible, wearable, and fun.
I’m also the founder and owner of LaLa Projects, a design and development studio helping clients build brands and custom websites. One of my most interesting long-term projects is locals.guide, a data-driven resource I’ve been developing for years. The core data powers the locals.guide website itself, but I’ve also created a collection of WordPress plugins that allow my clients to integrate this information into their own sites. In fact, the Things-To-Do plugin is actively used on wanderwithdirection.com, so some of the content you enjoy here is powered by data from locals.guide.
Most recently, I’ve launched a vintage VW Tour Bus experience, blending my love of Northern Michigan, adventure, and creative exploration. These curated tours invite guests to experience the beauty of our area in a playful and nostalgic way.
I’m excited for the journey ahead and look forward to sharing it with you, whether through yoga, art, design, or a scenic ride in the VW bus. Let’s explore new horizons together!
