North Bar Lake is a stunning natural feature located in Northern Michigan’s Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. It is so close to Lake Michigan that you can walk back and forth between the two lakes. North Bar Lake is fed by several small streams and springs, making the water warmer than the big lake. It is the perfect spot for swimming and sunbathing. Kids love to play in the outlet stream that flows from the smaller lake to the big lake. You will have to walk quite a ways from the parking lot to the lake, we recommend taking a wagon to carry your beach gear.
