This thoughtfully curated 5-hour outing features three stunning stops and it includes a plein air watercolor class with guests choosing to host their painting session at either the lavender-filled charm of Harbor View Lavender Farm or the whimsical U-Pick blooms of Old Mission Flowers.
STOP 1Harbor View Nursery & Lavender Farm
This place is beautiful! There are lavender fields, orchards, and gardens to explore. They are very welcoming and let you freely wander around their property.
They have a darling little shop full of their lavender products. They also sell baked goods like brownies, pies, and lavender honey ice cream made by Buchan’s.
This is a great spot to just take in a deep lavender scented breath and be thankful for to be in Northern Michigan.
STOP 2Old Mission FlowersThis U-Pick Flower garden is a must-visit on an Old Mission Art & Garden Tour.
Here you are invited to wander the gardens to pick the a bouquet of flowers as you take in the lovely bay views in the distance. It is a charming place.
The proprietor is typically hanging around, but flower picking is based an honor system, flower prices are on a sliding scale based on size. You pick what you like and simply deposit the cash into a payment repository.
It is a very nice way to spend time soaking up Old Missions beauty and you get to take a bouquet of flowers home as a result.
Both Gardens are Worth Painting!
It will just be a matter of choosing between the two gardens that you would like to set up in for a few hours of plein air painting.
