I’m excited to share that I won a plein air painting competition for the Port Oneida Fair poster of the year. The fair is coming up on August 8 & 9, 2025. I’ll be at the fair to sign posters from 10 AM to 4 PM on Friday and from 10 AM to Noon on Saturday.

The Port Oneida Fair and it’s poster is produced by a non-profit organization called ‘Preserve Historic Sleeping Bear‘, whose mission is to partner with Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore to preserve and interpret its 360 historic buildings and landscapes and provide heritage experiences for visitors and community enrichment.

All proceeds go to support their mission. The posters are $20 and you can buy them at the fair. If you miss the fair you can pick one up any time at Olsen Farm just off M22 in the Port Oneida area of the part. Olsen Farm is also a museum, so you can enjoy that as well if you stop there. Additionally, you can buy the posters their website, here is a link to Buy Online.

If you are interested in the postcard, please reach out to me, ask to see my trunk show if you see me around, or you can buy them in my shop. Here is the online product.

The beauty of historic Northern Michigan is captured in the postcard Bright Spring Day on Thoreson Farm, based on an original watercolor painting of a beloved historic site in Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park. Nestled in the Port Oneida Rural Historic District, Thoreson Farm is depicted on a sunlit spring day, its classic barns standing proudly with Lake Michigan shimmering in the distance. Perfect for sending a note or framing as art, these postcards celebrate the timeless charm of Michigan’s lakeshore farm landscapes.
