Joyride & Hike is a small-group outdoor experience designed for those who want to explore Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park without overplanning, blending scenic travel and guided trail time into one relaxed, feel-good outing.

Guests meet in Lake Ann before climbing aboard Atlas, a vintage VW bus, for a nostalgic ride into Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, where each Tuesday at 11 AM features a different trail from a rotating summer lineup.

With just six guests per trip (Adults 18+ only), the experience stays personal and unhurried, offering a 2–3 hour adventure that balances light hiking, lake views, and time to take it all in, making it ideal for visitors and locals alike who want a simple, thoughtfully guided way to connect with the landscape.

Good tennis shoes

Is there anything I shouldn’t bring?

Valuables, the bus does not lock. Please bring only what you want to carry or are okay leaving unattended.

How challenging are the hikes?

The trails we explore are natural, not paved. They are considered easy to moderate. You will need to be able to walk on uneven ground and up and down hills. Sometimes the earth will be sandy or have tree roots.
